Европейский вещательный союз проинформировал Литовское телевидение о том, что они должны отобрать другую песню на конкурс в течение недели. Такое решение было принято на встрече специального комитета ЕВС. Оно было единогласным, после того как члены комитета прослушали обе версии песни.

Йонас Вилимас, глава Литовской делегации, признал во время пресс-конференции, что песня на самом  деле была выпущена осенью 2001 года. Вилимас заявил, что ЛТВ неправильно поняло правила ЕВС и рассчитывало, что версия, отправляемая на конкурс, отличается как в тексте, так и в аранжировке.

Члены Баварии, хотя и были расстроены, но приняли решение и попросили всех литовцев поддержать литовскую песню, какой бы она ни была. Также они заявили о своем возвращении в следующем году.

Кристин Маршал, координатор совета ЕВС, надеется, что литовская делегация успеет подготовить новую песню до крайнего срока -полудня 28-го марта. "Мы хотим видеть Литву на конкурсе",- заявила она.

Айварас, занявший второе место, уже заявил, что изменил планы и не примет участия в конкурсе. Сейчас ЛТВ пытается связаться с Саулес Клиосас, чья песня "Пою в ночи" заняла на национальном финале 3-е место.

Появился слух, что литовский вариант песни был выпущен в прошлогоднем альбоме группы. Если   этот факт подтвердится, то песня должна быть дисквалифицирована. Как сообщает сайт ESCOL:

Б'Авария выпустила свой прошлогодний альбом "Is visos sirdies" в декабре 2001 года, и в него вошли две версии песни "Mes Cia!" Первоначально EBU не принимал обвинения, которые делались наблюдателями, и говорил, что "Mes Cia!" это не та же песня. Однако похоже, что после прослушивания обеих песен они пришли к выводу, что песни не просто очень похожи, а на самом деле идентичны.

Жиль Паульссон-Гаспар, представитель EBU, признал в своем интервью сайту ESCOL, что первоначальное решение было пересмотренно и расследование продолжается. "Мы сейчас изучаем этот вопрос. Дело в том, что Литовское телевидение заявило нам, что это неправда, но мы еще раз попросили их снабдить нас подробным пояснением, и, скорее всего, мы сможем решить этот вопрос к концу недели."

The European Broadcasting Union have informed Lithuanian TV that they must choose an alternative song for the 2002 Eurovision Song Contest within the next week. The decision comes after a meeting of the EBU reference committee in Tallinn. The decision to bar the song from the final was unanimous after both songs were heard by the committee.

Jonas Vilimas, the head of the Lithuanian Eurovision delegation, admitted during a conference in Eurovision 2002 home city Tallinn, that the song was in fact released in the Autumn of 2001. Vilimas claimed that LTV had misunderstood the EBU rules and had thought that the version entered for Eurovision was sufficiently different in both lyric and arrangement to allow it to be eligible for the contest.

The group who had hoped to sing in Tallinn were disappointed but accepted the ruling, they also asked everyone in Lithuania to support whoever is chosen for the contest and vowed to be back next year. Christine Marchal, co-ordinator of the EBU panel, voiced the hope the Lithuanian delegation will be able to arrange an alternative song before the deadline of noon on March 28, "We want to see Lithuania in the Eurovision finals," she said.

The second placed performer Aivaras, has let it be known that he is already committed to other ventures and would not be able to take part in the contest. LTV are believed to be contacting Saules Kliosas, whose song Singing In The Night came third during the Lithuanian national final.

Suddenly there appeared rumors that Mes Cia (lithuanian version of We All) was already released on B'Avaria album  last year. If it was true song should be automatically disqualified. As ESCOL recently reported :

"B'Avarijia released their last album Is visos sirdies in December 2001, the album includes two different mixes of Mes Cia!. Initially the EBU dismissed claims made by observers of the contest, trying to suggest that Mes Cia! was not the same song. It would appear that after actually listening to the two songs, they have had to come to the conclusion that the songs are not merely similar, they are in fact the same song.

Jill Paulsson-Gaspare of the EBU admitted that the earlier dismissal by the governing organisation had been rethought and a full investigation was continuing. "We are currently studying this issue. The thing is that until now Lithuanian TV has told us that it was not true, but we asked them again to provide us with a complete explanation and most probably we will be able to solve this issue at the end of the week," she told ESCOL. "
