Mickey Harte (Michael Joseph Harte Esq.) is from Lifford, Co. Donegal and has never wanted much else than to fulfill his lifelong ambition to become a successful singer songwriter.

Influenced by Sting, Paul Brady, (Phil Coulter perhaps?) and other great songwriters, Mickey started his career with local band, Kryptic, at the age of 15. Mickey decided to go it alone a few years ago and he recorded his first solo demo in 2001 - Plugged Unplugged.

Now a full time musician, Mickey gigs regularly in Dublin and all over the country, both alone and with his band. Well used to the bright lights, Mickey has supported the likes of Jack L, Kieran Goss, The Four of Us, John Spillane and Aslan. He also traveled to the infamous Tin Pan South Festival in Nashville, Tennessee two years in a row and has toured extensively in Spain, Germany, Belgium and Holland. 

Mickey has become a household name of late since he entered RTE's search for a Eurovision contender, YOU'RE A STAR. Mickey's talent has won over the hearts and consciences of thousands of discerning TV viewers which has kept him consistently at the top of the voting polls.

Azi JegbefumeAzi Jegbefume, 18 years old girl from Dublin won first heat of Irish preselection show You're A Star.

All in all there will be 12 contestants in final, 9 winners of semi-final heats and 3 wild-card holders. The viewers will then get to vote off an act each week until the final winner is known.
Azi performed The Fugee's "Killing me Softly" and picked up the most votes from the public.
Avi lives at home with her family; she has one brother and one sister. Her parents are from Nigeria and moved here 20 years ago. She is currently studying to be a psychologist. She is no stranger to competition as she got to the last four in the presenter competition, 'Be the Face of MTV'. She also entered Fame Academy and got to the last 32 but the judges' felt she was unable to perform live. Azi is still angry and now more determined then ever to prove them wrong. She told to us: "Yes, I'm really excited and I hope I go all the way to the Eurovision, I know I'll do Ireland proud and also I'll be Ireland's first black Eurovision entrant-!!how cool would that be!!!"
She has already represented Ireland as a junior sprinter at the Celtic Games and the Triple AAA.
18-летняя студентка из Дублина Ази Джегбефуме  выиграла первый раунд ирландского шоу Ты-звезда.
Всего в шоу будет 12 финалистов, 9 победителей отборочных раундов и 3 обладателя спец. приглашения. Затем телезрители каждую неделю будут убирать по одному исполнителю, пока не останется последний финалист, который и представит Ирландию на Евровидении.
Ази исполнила песню "Killing me softly" группы The Fugee's и набрала большинство голосов телезрителей. 
Она живет вместе со своей семьей, у нее есть брат и сестра. Ее родители родом из Нигерии и переехали в Ирландию 20 лет назад. Сейчас она учится на профессию психолога. Ей уже не впервой участвовать в такого рода соревнованиях, она уже попадала в 4-ку "Стань лицом МТВ", а также участвовала в Fame Academy, но судьи посчитали, что она недостаточно сильно поет вживую. Теперь Ази стремится доказать всем, что они были  неправы. В своей беседе с автором сайта Евровидение-Казахстан Ази сказала следующее: "Да, я очень рада и надеюсь, что на этот раз я смогу пройти весь путь до конца, Ирландия еще будет гордиться мной, и я как классно если я еще стану первым темнокожим участником Евровидения от Ирландии!"
Также Ази уже представляла Ирландию как член юношеской сборной команды по легкой атлетике (спринт).

He works full time as a self-employed musican. As a hobby Michael loves to write songs. He spends all his free time in his room thinking of lyric's and tunes and scribbling them down on paper

Shauna & Caoimhe McElhinneyPerforming Celine Dion/Barbara Streisand "Tell me" 16 year old Shauna and Caoimhe McElhinney got 24% of votes and became 5th finalists of "You're a star".

RTE have decided to allow each of the four judges of the show select three participants from the sixty three who have failed to reach the final, all of whom will compete for the single chance to make the final line up. Thirteen participants will enter the second phase of the contest with four from the wild card play off making the grade.

After the line up is known, each week viewers will have the chance to vote off one act each week until just one remains. This will be the Irish performer for 2003.

РТЕ решило дать каждому из 4-х судей дать возможность выбрать по 3 участника из  63 не попавших в финал. Телезрители  выберут из каждой тройки по одному финалисту, которые и присоединятся к ранее избранным девяти.

После того как все 13 конкурсантов станут известны, каждую неделю телезрители будут отсеивать одного участника. Победитель и будет представлять Ирландию на конкурсе Евровидение.
Final of Irish show You're A Star is scheduled on March, 8. It will take place in Dublin. Right now we know first wild card holders : Darren Smith from Windmill Lane Entertainnment chose Lisa Bresnan, 22 (sang "One" by U2) and famous composer Phil Coulter's choice was Catroina MacGinty, 26 (sang Let it be by The Beatles). In first heat of stage two girls got very different placings. Lisa finished first, and Catroina was eliminated.

Brian OrmondFinal 2 wildcards of You're A Star went to Brian Ormond,23 (selected by Louis Walsh, performed "If tomorrow never comes" by Garth Brooks) and Susan McFadden,19 (selected by Kerry McFadden, performed "From this moment" by Shania Twain). Well yes, you're right Susan is Kerry's sister-in-law. And Brian is also old friend of Louis. So no real controversy here. Again wildcard  holder won the heat. It was Brian. Susan McGowan was voted out of this show. Susan McFaddenБыли объявлены еще два держателя wildcard в ирландском шоу. 13.02.03 National finals

Small changes in announcement of results of weekly You're A Star show. Results of show aired at 8pm Sunday will now be announced at 8am Monday, but window for voting remain the same - hour between 9 till 10 pm Sunday. Last week about 650,000 viewers watched the show and about 330,000 votes were cast. It is rumoured that all this decisions are made to get rid of disagreeable candidates - duo of McElhinney twins. Each week panel of judges suggest to vote girls off but their appeals are met quite opposite by public. You can watch videos of the show at devoted.to/eurovision

Результаты шоу проходящего в 8 вечера воскресенья теперь будут объявляться в 8 утра понедельника, но промежуток для голосования остается старым - час с 9 до 10 вечера воскресенья. На прошлой неделе шоу посмотрели 650 тысяч телезрителей, а количество голосов превысило 330 тысяч. Говорят, что все эти меры принимаются для того, чтобы избавится от неугодных кандидатур, дуэта МакЭлхинни, против которых судьи призывают голосовать после каждой передачи, однако пока эти призывы имеют скорее обратное действие.
