Dora (Croatian national final) 2003 is heading to Opatija this year. 3 events are scheduled to take place at the same time - ESC preselection festival, Croatian Music Awards and the Miss Croatia beauty contest. 250 entries received by organizers, 24 of them will be selected for 2 semi-finals. Voting is run in 5 regions, each of them give to songs points from 1 to 12 Дора (Хорватский отбор) 2003 в этот раз пройдет в городе Опатия. Одновременно с ним намечено провести еще два события - вручение национальных премий в области музыки и конкурс красоты Мисс Хорватия. 250 заявок на участие в отборе было получено, 24 песни попадут в полуфиналы. Голосование проходит по 5-ти регионам, которые дают песням очки от 1 до 12. |

| From Dora 2003 When she read in a newspaper that she was described as another newcomer at Dora 2003, Claudia, 17 years old, laughed and said: Where were you when I sung at Dora?! Indeed, those who watch Dora regularly will remember the song Scent of Love and the pop group Teens that performed that song in 1999 at the competition for Croatian song for Europe. Claudia was then only 12 years old and she was already a seasoned band vocal. Teens or Mici rokeri (Tiny Rockers) was formed in 1996, and changed their name in 1998 when they got a new manager Mario Simunovic, music teacher. Claudia performed with her band in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia and Montenegro. After three albums, U tami svjetlosti, (In the Darkness of Light) Blue laguna (Blue Lagoon) and Andeo cuvar (Guardian Angel) and smash hits like Miris ljubavi (The Scent of Love), (Dora 1999), Neki dani (Some Days), Hajde, reci sto (Come on, tell me what), (Dora 2000), Idem ja (I'm going now), Lazi nekom drugom (Lie to Someone Else), and having won Porin award for the best newcomer in 2000, Claudia starts her solo career. Before summer 2002 she made her debut solo album with assistance of Marko Tomasovic, Aleksandar Valencic, Mario Vestic, Denis Dumancic, Andrej babic, Davor Devcic, Sandro Beni and Mario Simunovic. The album was heralded by the singles Tako hrabar da me ostavis (So Brave to Leave Me), (with this song she won the Best newcomer award at Split festival in 2001), Ili ona ili ja (Either Her Or Me), (Zagreb-fest 2001) and Led, (Ice) (Croatian Radio Festival 2002). Her hits took Croatian charts by storm. She sung with Ivana Banfic Hrvatice vas vole (Croatian Women Love You) for Croatian soccer team at World Championship in Korea and Japan. Claudia sings a mix of pop, dance, romantic ballads and pop rock. Her single Dio sebe (A Part of Me) is still on Croatian charts. She also made a video for that single. On this year's Dora she will have five back vocals and they will have interesting choreography. The author of music and lyrics is Andrej Babic (this is his fourth tima at Dora: 1997 Ksenia - Nemamo na to pravo, 1999, Teens - Miris ljubavi and 2000 Teens - Hajde, reci sto). It was arranged by Aleksandar Vanelcic, who is also making his fourth appearance at Dora: Battifaca - Jos vavek, 1999 Sanja Lukanovic - Jos jednom, and in 2002 4'33" -Ave Maria Laudata. |
